So we are aligning and have aligned our policies to the Broward County Commission to uh provide podcast-host

relief of impact fees uh for certified uh affordable housing. podcast-host

what we do for units that have already been uh paid for and and permitted podcast-host

in my mind has to be different than the the units going forward. podcast-host

We have a hundred and thirty six units in Oakland Park. podcast-host

uh that are not certified affordable housing but will start as affordable housing podcast-host

Uh the million dollars has already been paid. podcast-host

The permits to my understanding have already been uh provided uh for this development. podcast-host

And the Broward County Schools and the County Commission have worked together to produce a new agreement for all nine municipalities that are affected by this this dated agreement. podcast-host

to relieve them of this student generation fee, this eight thousand dollars roughly per unit uh that they're paying in. podcast-host

But the city of Oakland Park had a decision to make about do we move fast? podcast-host

Or do we slow down a little bit and allow this new agreement to uh to go? podcast-host

And they chose to go fast and that's fine. podcast-host

That's a that's a decision that they made. podcast-host

And uh I don't begrudge them for doing that. podcast-host

But we had an agreement in place uh and it's very difficult to undo a contract like that without implicating all the other people who have paid in based on student generation uh into this fund in the past. podcast-host

So my concern is uh this is a million dollars, it's unfortunate, the project is going quick, it is building affordable housing. podcast-host

Uh I don't think there's a person in Broward County that is more podcast-host
