No, this is amazing.
I don't have any... Maybe, Logan, maybe you do.
I don't have any book recommendations in this regard.
I do not have children of my own, so...
I have not had a lot of experience teaching kids directly.
The closest I have is my niece.
And I would encourage you, you're already doing this, but for any listener out there, it really is kind of a start young and build up.
So when I think about a three-year-old and a five-year-old, what I'm thinking about is how do I make this practical for them?
so if you're talking to a you know three-year-old about investing it might go over their head to talk about mutual funds and index funds and all the things but what they understand is okay here is a dollar and if you want you can wait and tomorrow i'll give you two dollars like you can teach them aspects of compounding interest with metaphors like that or with your five-year-old maybe there's an element of okay we've saved a little bit now we get to go to the store and you get to pick something out
and beginning to teach them that.
I absolutely love that you've already purchased a stock for your five-year-old because they're going to understand slowly but surely what it means for investments to lose and gain money over time.
I think that's a perfect step.
I will translate this a little bit further.
So I have a niece who is now, which is crazy, 15.
But for the last like three or four years, really, she started to get from like kind of that 12 year old range until now, get a lot more interested in the idea of saving and getting a job and investing.
And just recently we talked a lot about what does it mean to own a stock and own a company?
So we talked about opening a custodial account for her and she can pick out things that she already spends money at and start to invest in those and see the return of that.
So I think starting young is key.
One of the ideas I've heard before is over time learning how to help them visualize it a little bit more.
So a long time ago, I could not tell you what episode number should have looked before.
