We interviewed someone who had this idea called the black box investing idea.

Mm-hmm.

But his premise was to teach kids about compounding interest and about delayed gratification.

So the way this worked, and you can go back, we did a pretty long interview with him.

There might even have been video.

So he talked about he gives his kids a penny.

And in that penny, they get to choose if they spend it or if they invest it, using air quotes.

If they invest it, they put it in this black box.

And then overnight, that penny will double.

And they'll get another penny the next day.

And then they get to choose.

Do you spend it?

Do you invest it?

And then the next day, they get another penny.

So I'm probably butchering this.

Obviously, he will explain it far more than I do.

But over time, what they see is their penny then eventually starts to earn a nickel as they get older.

And then it starts to earn a dime or a quarter or a dollar or...

Or $5.

And they start to see the power of continuing to say no.
