And I was like, this is the best system ever. voice-verified

But then what I realized is in reality, I also have like a miscellaneous other category that's like I needed new kitchen hand towels. voice-verified

And so what I realized was at the end of the month I would have to then sweep over however much amount and it just got to be kind of a record keeping nightmare for me and I did not want to have to initiate a transfer from savings to checking every time I use something in that fund. voice-verified

So what I do is I keep which everyone knows what a budgeting a budgeting nerd I am or a budgeteer if you will, I am, but I voice-verified

keep a spreadsheet that I just log when I have something that hits in my escrow account and I keep track of what it was so I have different categories within. voice-verified

But it will track, okay, year to date, how much have I saved towards my escrow account? voice-verified

how that's allocated to spend on a monthly basis versus how much have I spent. voice-verified

And then I have a running figure of the difference, which I realized was confusing. voice-verified

So I know I should have nine hundred 'cause it's March set aside in the escrow. voice-verified
