Delta's long-standing partnership with Amex played a significant role in the company's bankruptcy recovery.
Delta received a $1 billion boost from Amex in 2008, and in the following years, the partnership has soared to become the most lucrative credit card partnership in the industry.
According to Bastion, Amex's Delta co-branded card spending approaches about 1% of US GDP each year.
Delta earned more than $8 billion from Amex in 2025, which makes up over 10% of Delta's total revenue.
The other thing I want to talk about was the American Express partnership.
I'm curious how you have nurtured and cultivated that to become really great on both sides.
I believe eight billion dollars that was paid to Delta from Amex last year for the credit card that you two have together.
And that's like ten percent of revenue for Delta.
It's significant.
And that has been a long term partnership.
I think
renewed in twenty nineteen for another ten year deal.
