I think we need more tournaments throughout the Caribbean whereas you could have more players getting exposure to playing competitive cricket and stuff like that.
So I really think there's a really good move by the West Indies Board and the CPL to get that tournament kicked off.
and hopefully it could just be more and better yeah for next year and showcase the talent that we have in the caribbean because i think we we have so much talent in the caribbean but i don't think it's being utilized and groomed the way it should yeah i think like for instance me living in england now like the structure in england cricket is so amazing like even to like the county clubs them like having
the academy teams, they have all age groups academy teams and even after under 17, under 18 you got the academy team between 18 to I think 23 and then the county teams also have second team as well so like there's a lot of opportunities for players and I think
That's where I think West Indies need to look into and maybe try getting the franchises, them to maybe have an academy team.
I know they're trying their best and I know a big part of it in West Indies cricket is about funding and stuff like that.
But if you could get a team together and get sponsorship, like there are so many...
big companies within the Caribbean that you could reach out to and get sponsorship from and have I think like between the age of 18 and 23 we lose a lot of cricketers in the Caribbean definitely a lot a lot of cricketers because then there's
so much things you gotta worry about uh how i'm gonna finance my family how i'm gonna live off of this and they just go out and seek work and try and just push aside cricket because there's nothing they're gaining from it and if you could get their core players and get them in academy team or even
the franchise, them to have a second XI team and playing against each other.
Even playing, organising trips to go to Barbados, play against a Barbados club team and stuff like that.
Or even getting county teams to come down during the winter time in England to play against the second XI team and stuff like that.
I think it's a walk in progress but I think it just needs a bigger push and getting the players because a lot of players get lost
within the background because there's not enough opportunities to exposure and those kind of stuff.
So hopefully next year the tournament is much bigger and expose a lot of players and hopefully a lot of players get some CPL deals and even other franchises through the wall from just having the opportunity to showcase the talent in the breakout league.
Question, how has your
John, you've been part of the West Indies team.
Yeah man, I think you've been on such a journey.
I've been watching you all the time from scoring the double 100 in first class season, scoring your first list 800.
I know you missed out on scoring 100 against Leeward Islands as well.
