I think Greer was broadly quite positive about his trade talks with the UK.
I think that to some extent the UK is just not a big deal to to James and Korea.
We're just a small economy.
I mean, he did raise agriculture as a sticking point.
And he said that he would like to see that fixed.
But he also said the UK was pushing to have better access to the US market for some iconic UK goods.
And he would not expand or give us more details on what those are, but he sounded a little skeptical about exactly how iconic some of these goods are.
I think Greer is still really set on the idea that using tariffs will help reindustrialize America and bring all these manufacturing jobs back to its Rust Belt states and elsewhere.
That seems to be his driving force.
I think they're really trying to rebalance trade with China.
That is something that Greer talks a lot about.
But ultimately, he sees things through a relationship.
relatively political lens, and he is going to stay the course on this.
I think he really thinks that duties and tariffs are going to make an economic difference to the US.
So Trump's original so-called Liberation Day tariffs were struck down by the U.S.
Supreme Court.
They quickly pivoted to a different trade law, which is known as Section 122, and that allows the president to impose tariffs for only 150 days.
But their 150 days will lapse on Friday.
They've launched a big investigation.
