You know, what if this happened to my business?
What if this happened in my role?
Mapping your own disruption, I think, can be one of the greatest ways to innovate yourself and a potential business that you want to work for.
If I was a candidate for a role in an interview, I would be...
openly discussing what I thought could be their biggest challenges in the next 10 years.
You know, it could be a weather event, could be something totally out of left field.
But often when people are working in a business, they're not spending time on what's going on outside the business.
And I think playing the outside game is a great mindset to be in and a great attribute to bring to a business as a candidate.
Well, it's so much more than that, isn't it?
It's about mindset.
It's about forecasting.
We cannot adapt.
We cannot respond to change unless we know it's coming or have some kind of idea it's coming.
We can respond to it a lot more effectively if
if we know it's coming down the pipeline.
So it really does pay to spend some time thinking about those what-if scenarios and how they might impact your industry.
