I think, Don, what you're asking is almost did the Supreme Court go for a worse outcome than what Trump and company were asking for, right?

Because the Trump legal theory was if he wasn't impeached, he can't then be prosecuted.

And I think you're right that SCOTUS did a couple of things with this opinion.

And one of the things that they did was create this category of core functions where the president is always immune.
