Well, I mean I don't you can't sort of go into hypotheticals, but I I know what would have happened is that there would have been questions asked and the AFLPA would have been involved.

Do you think it was deliberately not lodged to avoid that scrutiny?

Again, I don't want to speculate I don't think so, but I mean we'll I don't want but again, I don't want to get ahead of where we were.

I think what we'll do is hear from Geelong um in relation to um you know, we we know how the agreement was signed, it's just why the next

it wasn't taken and we'll hear from Geelong on that.

Again, I haven't spoken to um the player himself.

I spoke to his manager this morning, but his manager, John Meeson, at the moment, and Peter Lenton, who oversees that, they weren't looking after Jake at that time.

I don't know whether it actually got to that level.

And again, I again I don't want to speculate 'cause I don't have all the answers.

I do know that

It was a process that took over a couple of months from when the concussion panel met until as he worked through with different medical um independent medical experts, the club doctors, as well as having um oversight from a um his insurance advisor as well.

When you have a player, when you have a process that was um as detailed as what I understand it to be, with independent oversight and independent medical, I don't think that's where we're going.

I think what we have is a really complex issue that

is a issue facing the AFL and its clubs, but it's also an issue that's facing sports globally when they contact sports and how do you get that balance between

the prioritisation of player health and safety, which is the number one priority for any sport, and as an employer who's a club, there's obligations you can't contract out of.

So regardless of what a waiver says, you actually can't contract out of um statutory obligations as an employer, you've got

obligations you can't delegate.

So the player has those protections always regardless of what's in.
