I mean, I think that that there are a lot of people who are concerned about the total kind of number of eyeballs on the network.
Obviously, you're more of a creature of of the cable world than I am.
You can speak to this a lot of this stuff a lot more eloquently than I can.
Um, since, you know, my, my, my exposure to this whole ecosystem is, is, uh, like, like many lazy youths of, of my, of my generation, mostly just seeing it all kind of chopped up on social media and things like that.
Um, but, but it does, I mean, it seems, I mean, I, I, it's obvious what's going on, right?
I mean, it's, it's, it's part of the, the broader, um, um, media scramble to, to try to, to not be the nail that sticks out irritating, you know, Donald Trump and, and his, um,
his support system on any given day.
That was kind of Joy Reid's specialty, not just not that she was, you know, always talking about the stuff that nobody else in the media was talking about necessarily.
But but, you know, she she really was a sore spot, I think, for a lot of of the president's biggest fans and things like that.
They had that kind of personal animosity toward her style and the way she'd present things and things like that, that that I think it seems pretty clear MSNBC no longer sees that as an asset for their brand.
Yeah, I guess I'd basically say two things about it.
One is that I'm I'm totally cognizant that that like kind of from the point of view of the Trump administration and like populist virtue signaling, this is probably like, quote unquote, a smart move for them in the sense that they know it's it's a move that plays well to their audience.
Right.
I mean, the the White House court, I mean, White House reporters kind of famously not an incredibly sympathetic bunch in a lot of ways.
There's a lot of like status seeking associated with that and a lot of like.
kind of furrowed brow following of the rules and things like that.
And I think that that what Trump is trying to do is basically just kind of take potshots at these people in order to to kind of appease his audience and say, ha ha, look what we're kind of tearing them down to size.
These these kind of most puffed up of all journalists, the suit and tie wearing White House correspondents.
But at the same time, on the merits, it is obviously kind of a
a real blow to, to like a proper understanding of what press freedom means, of what accountability means.
