Joy Reid's final appearance on MSNBC was also the network's most watched show in the adults 25 to 54.
In total viewers, the readout landed second place behind the Rachel Maddow show and edged out Lawrence O'Donnell, the last word with Lawrence O'Donnell, by just 59,000 total viewers. Meanwhile, the five, once again, top total viewers for Fox News and 5 p.m. hour of the lead with Jake Tapper led for CNN. Let's look at these numbers, though. So if you look at 7 o'clock, Melba before her got a 98. He was in the double digits. Joy doubled that and more, 233. In the demo. And it seems it was the highest demo of the night, as it says, until Rachel with 181. And then Lawrence O'Donnell down at, well, Nicole Wiles at 162 with hers. So Reed beat out Erin Burnett on CNN, 128. Laura Ingram, 368. Obviously, Fox is the powerhouse here.
But her number is higher than every single person, every single hour, every single show on CNN, who's their competition. And that was in the demo. And then in the households, we have Ingram has 3,365,000. Aaron Burnett had 654,000. And Joy Reid had 1,690,000. second to Rachel Maddow as well, and it beats everyone who was on CNN, even by double digits. So there you go. That was the last night of Joy Reid's show on MSNBC doing pretty well in the ratings. Are you surprised by that, Andrew?
No, I wouldn't say I'm surprised by it. I don't think that anybody really thinks that the reason for this reshuffling is that there weren't enough eyeballs on her. I mean, I think that that there are a lot of people who are concerned about the total kind of number of eyeballs on the network.
