From that, I was then able to go and do a teacher conversion course then because I had the degree.

And then within six months, I was a qualified teacher because I had so much experience.

But then the building schools for the future, the project where they built all the new high schools in Kirby and Knowsley, that...

fell on its ass so all the funding went so i basically i couldn't stay in that school they couldn't convert me so then i had to go and do it i had to go and like kind of start at the bottom teaching wise then and i went to um where did i go first ormskirk high school done a three-month placement there and then got a job at card leaning um just teaching business just just as a business teacher and got got hit with the classic of card leaning it's quite well known that when you do a paper register

the average is you get 10 Stephen Gerrards on the paper register.

I think I got eight.

I think they might have thought he's going to be onto it, but you send the register round and Stephen Gerrard, Stephen Gerrard, Stephen Gerrard.

So I got it with that on the first day.

And then, yeah, so since then, just got into the teaching.

But the footy coaching kicked in.

at All Saints so they had a really good footy team so straight basically straight away yeah so I wasn't necessarily involved it was a couple of lads Don Volante who's an assistant head there now I've become good friends with him I think his cousin does all the media stuff for Liverpool Mark Volante does all the stuff for Liverpool

So become good mates with them.

And then I called John Stanley, who is still a PE teacher at All Saints now.

So they had two really good footy teams, like two years apart.

So I just went, I just helped them.

So when I was in sixth form, I just kind of did, because I wasn't a teacher, they'd let me go if they were away.

And I just kind of went with them.

And both of their teams ended up playing at Anfield.

Right.

Both of them lost.
