So I was doing that, so I worked at All Saints and Kirby for two years.

And then a government initiative come in where they funded, it was called Aim Higher.

It's gone now, but it was good.

It was really good.

And this government initiative come in, and it was Aim Higher, and what they were doing was paying people to be mentors in schools, but it was funded externally.

Right.

And the person who led the sixth form, but from a non-teaching point of view, kind of went off to do that.

So this sixth form opportunity, it was just called a sixth form mentor, came up and I was already in the school and the job got advertised externally.

And I just went to their head and was like, I'd love to do that.

And he was like, all right, okay.

So he'd done the old, you know, drawing out to me what my skills were.

And I told him about Camp America and he was like, wow.

And then I was like, and then, so I got that.

So then became like sixth form manager but then what happened was I hit that glass ceiling because I didn't have a degree and I wasn't a qualified teacher and I remember being on at the time thought it was you know I thought it was decent money it was probably 18, 19 grand and then just going back 20 years and I was like but then I was like sat alongside people who were on like 45 grand and in my head I'm thinking I'm better than them at what they do and I could be better than them at that and

not arrogantly just you know you're thinking and i just kept saying to the head teacher like what and he was like you can't go anywhere unless you get a degree so i went to edge hill and done a seven-year part-time degree right so i have to go every wednesday from two to late and um they ended up condensing it halfway through but it took me five years

So it was like a part-time business management degree.

So I was, I think because I'd done that when I was 30, I got a first in it.

But, you know, I can understand why people at uni, young people get two ones and stuff.

But I got a first because it was like, I was zoned in on it.
