We're probably closer to the movie, and this is so difficult for me to say in my accent, but The Purge, or The Purge.
I think you've seen it.
P-U-R-G-E, you know, the one where the US have decided basically one night a year for 12 hours, all crime is legal.
You can do what you want.
Basically, you should watch it.
The actual concept's really good.
It's now spawned a whole series of movies
where society's got to a point where things are bad people need a release and this and i can't remember there's there's there are no movies that go into the whole background of it but this new government's come in that's a little bit more radical and they decide let's give people one night to go and do whatever they want the rest of the year it
everything is law law abiding no murder but literally murder is legal for this night so people have these like home security systems and again it's like the richer and wealthier you are the more likely you are to survive the night
yeah obviously the the youth or the poor but then you get like hordes of really rich frat boys who go out in masks and shoot and stab and kill and it sounds like a clockwork orange you remember that yeah a little bit like that yeah where they can do what they want and it's all fine on this night but it's a good series of movies and it just seems like we're we're much closer to a purge type scenario happening than anything
That is like the stupidest idea.
Good way to destroy your society.
I dread to think, though, Richard, if a government came in with that idea, how many people would actually vote for it in this day and age, right enough, given where we are?
Yeah, I think you're right.
Well, I appreciate the honesty, and I think you've always got to seek out that honesty.
We'll keep the dark, somber tone going, Richard, because, again, as a Scotsman, this feeds my soul.
So, yeah, if this was all happy, loving light, and there are so many podcasts you can listen to for that kind of stuff, folks, out there.
I do want to ask, and this is going to be non-spoiler, because some folks still haven't seen it, Richard, and I'm going to give another week or two before I talk about it openly.
I know you haven't seen Disclosure Day.
