They are, I think, first in the league in percentage of points that come from the three-point line.
And so trying to get guys off that line, trying to make them uncomfortable there was critical.
And I thought that we did a good job of that throughout the entire game.
I mean, layup's the highest percentage shot in the game.
I mean, if you're going to get 10 layups and you're going to make six of them,
that's going to be a higher efficiency than if you make three and a half of them.
And the average is six for 60% at the rim, and the average is low 30s from three.
So you're going to get more efficiency from the layup.
Coach Starkey, take note of that now.
I am taking note of that.
Get that Bob Cousy effect here.
No, you definitely didn't envision it.
We were on the forefront of the transfer portal probably about 10 years ago where we lost some really good players, leading scorers that would transfer up.
At that point in time, you weren't able to replace those guys very easily.
Now, at least with the transfer portal, you lose a guy like Alvaro Fulgaris, who was the Horizon League Player of the Year, and you replace him with Deshaun Good, who's gone on to become the Horizon League Player of the Year this year.
So there's a little bit more...
room for error in being able to replace talent, which is a positive.
I think the biggest thing that you have to try and find is guys that are going to become good teammates.
Obviously, you need talent, but you need guys that are going to want to become good teammates and be coachable and really buy into the team concept.
