And this is now public information.
And they were ready to fight back.
And then it didn't happen, and it sort of faded away.
But since then, as I said, there have been a number of U.S.
companies who have
stayed in Greenland, sometimes offering really extraordinary investments.
There's a guy who wants to build a data center in Greenland, even though it would probably melt the permafrost and you would have to import all the workers and all the material.
Greenland, remember, is frozen all year round.
It's not an easy place to do anything.
Why not do Greenland first?
Although, actually, that's not a joke because there are people who have said, let's do a kind of one of these sovereign states run by CEOs.
Let's create a new civilization in Greenland as an experiment for when we get to Mars.
they're not unrelated, those two ideas.
But the point is that we think nothing's really happening in Greenland, but actually there's this huge U.S.
influence operation being funded by private companies trying to reach Greenlandic politicians, trying to influence the way people think, offering people huge amounts of money in a place where people don't have it.
all with the aim of subverting the existing social system in Greenland and imposing something else.
