I know I can definitely resonate with that takeaway, but deep connection comes with that deeper vulnerability and those higher expectations.
Number three, stop expecting people to read your mind.
We have
have to be clearer and more specific in our communication and that creates that stronger communication rather than hoping that somebody just gets it.
Number four, if you're constantly giving but still feel lonely.
Ask yourself the question: Am I actually letting people show up for me?
And lastly, better conversations start small.
One small conversation with one clear need and one intentional step can be a win that can be celebrated and change more than you think.

Would you agree that we're living in the most self-focused era in human history and yet also one of the loneliest? We all woke up this morning in a world with a lot of messaging about who we should be and what we should be doing. And here's the question we're answering today. Is focusing on ourselves actually linked to more anxiety, more dissatisfaction, and feeling stuck? That's exactly what we're diving into with today's guest, Morgan Kruger. She's the author of Made to Magnify, and I cannot wait for you to hear this one. Hi, everyone. I'm Annika, and this is the Tried and True Podcast.
Morgan, thanks so much for joining us on the Tried and Truth podcast today. So glad you're here. We are talking about the really interesting paradox in a world today telling us to focus so much more on ourself. We're actually talking about how the more that we actually do this, the more unsatisfied and anxious and insecure we are.
become and what it is that we're really chasing after. And I think that that is something so many people, especially women around our age, can 100% relate to. So let's just dive right into talking about why. Why do we feel like we're going up against the grain here?
Yeah. And I do feel like so many women who are listening, especially ambitious women, driven women, you know, the feel I'm made for something more. I feel like there's got to be more than this. You know, all I ever wanted to do is be a mom. Then you become a mom and you're like, there's got to be more. But I think that the more that we're looking at is not the more that we're made to look at. And so let's unpack that a little bit.
Whenever I'm going through a struggle, it's usually because my priorities have been out of order. And that's always my prayer is reorder my loves. What about practically? What does this look like? Like on a Monday morning?
I love that. Come first and then go. You use the word magnify, which I think is a word we don't use a lot in everyday life. What does it actually mean to magnify Jesus in our everyday life? So not in theory, but if we've gotten on all of our orders, our order correct, what does it mean to magnify?
