And then you had the freebies scandal basically straight away when they came in.

And a clean break with all of that for Burnham.

I mean, I always said that the best thing Burnham could have done would have been to come in and on his first day say, I'm banning second jobs for MPs.

Because it's a real point of vulnerability for reform.

um so yeah i think i think that that's i think i think you're right to point that out as a potential vulnerability however she's so linked to some of these flagship policies so renters rights employment rights pushing them further on leasehold reform um you know getting the unions on side when they're not so keen on what the government's doing that she is an important player um so i suppose they've made that calculation but um

Yeah, the idea of politicians sort of being dodgy in public's minds, I'm not saying that's what Angela Rayner is, but just in terms of people's perceptions, will endure if you still have people in these kind of positions who have had the air of scandal around them.

And it would have been good to have a clean break for Burnham, but I suppose he just sees her talents, which are, you know, she does have great talents that are key to what Labour wants to do, sees that as coming above that.

I haven't actually been there since the by-election was called, but I was there during the locals.

And it's very, very fertile reform territory.

I'd be absolutely astounded if he didn't win by a big margin.

But, you know, that's very specific demographics of this seat.

It doesn't mean that the rest of the country are happy with what they've heard about Farage in recent months.

But yeah, I expect I expect that he'll walk it.

But it is a bit it is a bit difficult for him because in the build up to this polling day, anytime he doesn't.
