So he is someone who knows how to work the levers of Whitehall.
Whether or not he can bring that kind of force into a role as more of a diplomat, I don't know.
He is certainly a personable person behind the scenes.
We maybe didn't see so much of that when he was Labour leader.
And they all came out sort of after when I think the pressure was off him a bit and he was doing his podcast and people realised sort of what a personable, quite funny and nice guy he was.
So maybe, you know, that goes a long way in terms of diplomatic work.
So it could be a...
an effective appointment.
But I'm not sure for now.
It's difficult to know because Andy Burnham is not someone who has given a great deal away about his foreign policy position.

But it doesn't look like it.
So maybe...
I don't know.
We'll have to see how it goes.
Yeah, and I think...
I think people maybe misread Andy Burnham sometimes on this because they see the things that he's said over the years about sort of economic populist policy and they assume that he's sort of to the left or to the progressive left on every issue.
And I wouldn't necessarily class him as, you know, a classic progressive left winger on immigration policy.
