under pressure in a way that other people who don't have as much privilege or practice could.

But in that moment, immediately I went to feelings of empathy and anger for other women and other people who don't have that training, who get cross-examined and who get slut-shamed and who get treated in all sorts of horrible, unjust ways on the stand.

Because I don't want to get into it, but in the book I detail two horrible, horrible techniques the ABC used on me on the stand.

And I just thought of them and I just thought of how,

The justice system isn't necessarily a justice system.

It's a legal system.

Oh, yeah.

And sometimes it's justice for whoever can afford it, whoever can represent themselves the best.

But it also enabled me to do things like hold a press conference on my own grounds at the end of the, because I knew how it would work.

I worded up the journos that I was coming out to speak.

I didn't take questions.

I then said what I wanted to say on my own podcast when I launched

media a week later.

So it actually, in some ways, I had the tools to navigate the situation as best as possible and to counter some of the attacks that were coming my way.

Well, I think trust is something that has to be earned.

The entire time I have said and continue to say, I want the ABC to be strong and independent and robust and fearless and all of the things.

I know.

I know at one point when I walked in, I was being, and here's the other thing, like half of the journos or the camera people I know who were standing outside of court coming up.

So some would give me encouraging winks and things like that.

So there was a lot of unspoken solidarity.
