You know, I think there's reason to feel overwhelmed.
There's reason to feel concerned.
And, you know, there are fewer and fewer powerful people with growing resources having too much control over our democracy.
And that is... That's terrifying.
Oh, yes, a couple.
So one is Wendy McCarthy.
She is in her 80s.
She is the best.
She has long been a women's rights advocate.
She helped decriminalise abortion in New South Wales in the 70s.
She was also actually former deputy chair of the ABC, I think, in the 80s.
And she's been a big sort of supporter of mine.
And even though she was part of a group of women who helped decriminalise abortion, and they did one of the most baller things at the time, they all took out together a full-page advertisement in the local, not the local way, but in the daily newspaper, announcing that they'd all had abortions and taunting the police to come and arrest them.
Because they were like, well, if they come and arrest us, we've got the cameras ready.
So that was part of their campaign to be like, it's ludicrous that we can't do what we're, it's unsafe because women will find ways to have abortions.
And then when I go to interview her for this book, she's just come back from eye surgery and she's like, oh, well, they've wound back rights to abortion.
And we saw just on the weekend an anti-abortion rally, but in parts of regional Australia and the parts that she's from,
