Unfortunately not.
And it's not so much that we're looking at children not eating enough fruit and veg.
We've kind of known that for a long time.
It's really, I suppose, the global scale, isn't it?
And that we're there eating far less than what's recommended, which is unsurprising, unfortunately, but still disappointing.
Hmm.
So firstly, it depends on the age of the child when they're younger.
So one, two year olds, they're only looking to have about two to three portions, maybe a four, five year old or three, four, five year old having about four to five portions.
And then school age, it should be somewhat similar to us adults.
So at least five, not up to seven would be great.
But we're not going to start there.
If a child is having very, very little, any amount is better than what they're currently having.
So every extra portion is a step in the right direction then.
Yeah, so again, it depends on the child.
A really useful way for parents to use is a child's hand.
So when they're much younger, you're looking for about what fits into a cupped hand for them.
As they get closer to school age, it's about a fist size worth.
So for children, you're thinking it's around 40 grams worth.
Us adults, it's closer to about 80 grams is considered a portion.
