So there is a little bit of element of surprise.

Um and he also just has a deep arsenal where he can be a different guy each time now.

But the last two times out we saw that cutter up in the zone is really effective for him.

Well yesterday all of a sudden it's like curveballs and sliders and keeping a lineup with eight righties in it off balance and like getting through a third trip and showing them a third look.

Uh that's really big for him.

So I think it's just been a slow process of really

getting himself back to health, back into the physical place he needs to be to be effective.

Well yeah, and this is something that he's done earlier in his career as well.

Like when he was in Milwaukee, you know, there were times where um, you know, he he really upped his cutter usage.

You know, he came in as just like a big four scene guy.

And then that started getting hit.

So they said, Okay, what if you just cut the ball a little bit?

And then he got to a point um after the pandemic where it was, all right, let's help you develop a changeup because you know the two fastballs maybe are are starting to get a little bit predictable.

So, you know, in like twenty one, all of a sudden he's throwing a bunch of change ups and the I was talking to him the other day, you know, that's still something that he's working on.

He doesn't have a ton of confidence in the pitch right now, so you don't see it a whole lot.

But he would very much like that to become a bigger part of of his arsenal.

I think he's just like a a really um

smart guy when it comes to what he has on a given day and how to maximize what he has.
