I want to know how you actually feel.
Like, I don't want to hear a long response with a whole bunch of well-crafted phrases and terminology that doesn't actually have any substance to it.
But I tune out halfway through because you're just kind of going on and on.
And I feel at the end sort of satisfied that you've addressed whatever it is I want you to address, even though you didn't actually share your actual honest thoughts.
perspective and you didn't say the quiet part out loud just kind of what Vlad said um so like I just I don't think anyone should hold it against him that um he didn't like do the perfect PR counseled politically correct thing here like his job is to mash baseballs you know like his job isn't to have a perfectly calculated PR strategy
And I believe he's worked really hard this year to get back to who he's been previously on the field.
It just like hasn't worked out for him.
But I also just think that I want to like hear Vlad's perspective and his honest take on things.
And I think that's what he gave us.
And I think you have to accept that.
And I don't think that he needs to have like a big apology press conference or anything like that.
I don't think he owes anyone anything after this.
Yeah, I know that the Blue Jays dive into a lot of biomechanics and a lot of movement patterns and analyses when they're looking at players from outside their organization who they haven't had in their own motion cap labs and who they haven't had on their own force plates and who they just don't have...
as much information and personal data on.
So I think that they like are trying to sort of square that circle and figure out like how do we best assess who's actually durable and who's just durable until they're not.
Very imperfect science, pitching injuries, like...
kind of uh inherent to the act of pitching particularly in today's game where like the average fastball velocity this year was 94.7 and it's gone up every year since essentially the beginning of the pitch tracking era and i'm sure it will continue to go up and up and up like it's unnatural what these guys do they put their bodies under a tremendous amount of stress and
ultimately like things are gonna fray and things are gonna wear down over time so i think you're ultimately looking at like just the quality of athlete and how well they move um their mechanics and um they're uh just a lot of the biomechanical data that you have access to in today's game to try to assess like who's gonna hold up to these stresses and these demands but you're never gonna nail it every single time um that's just the the nature of the beast
Thanks,
uh useful I'll be on this autopsy, but I'll try. voice-verified
