Austin Voth is still a free agent for all I know.
So it really has to be Chad Dallas.
So we're likely to see what, by my count, is a ninth big league division.
debut for the Blue Jays this year if Dallas is activated and in the game which is kind of remarkable for a team with like a 300 plus million dollar payroll that's built to win now just to have that many big league debuts and to rely as much as they have on rookies through the first two months of the season that's really not how anyone drew it up but the Blue Jays just with the amount of
injuries and attrition that they've had on the pitching side and the position player side as well have really just been making it up as they go along and trying to just hold serve until they get some of their regulars back.
So with Dallas, you've got options on him if he's activated, selected today.
So that would be pretty easy.
With Simeon Richardson, you kind of pointed out, you trade cash considerations for him.
So if you end up turning around and DFAing him in a couple of weeks, not that anybody's hoping for that, but if that's what happens, then if you're replacing him with a Max Scherzer, I mean, you're probably going to do that, right?
So I think Dylan Cease, if all goes well here tonight in Buffalo, and if he's able to throw four or five innings,
I imagine his next start after that will be in the majors just because he hasn't been out for that long because his potential impact on the big league roster is so profound because even if it is only like 90, 95 pitches, two outings from now, you're going to take that in the majors rather than having them do that in the minors.
You got to see how he comes through this start.
But if it goes well, I imagine it'll be one and done for him.
With Scherzer, I mean, he's going to try to get up to around 60 pitches on Friday.
So if his next one after that is 75-ish, are you okay with that being in the major leagues?
Is that better than what you're going to throw that day?
If it was going to be like another Chad Dallas appearance or if...
Spencer Miles has a rough one his next time out as well, and it's two in a row, and you're thinking, hmm, maybe we got to take a little bit of workload off of him.
Does it make sense for Scherzer to slot into that?
And Miles kind of takes a reduced role in the bullpen.
