Diddy wanted to send a message that women believe me, because if you like these women, these strong, powerful lawyers, then you have to believe that they wouldn't have taken my case unless they believed in me.

Now, that's not the case.

Lawyers take lots of cases when people are guilty of crimes.

Women lawyers, men lawyers, lawyers in general don't typically take their cases as defense lawyers based on whether someone has committed the crime or not, because under our Constitution, everyone is entitled to representation in a trial.

So the fact that women are representing Diddy says nothing about his guilt or innocence, but it does help paint a picture for jurors.

And keep in mind, the prosecution, six women,

on the prosecutor's team as well.

So I'm sure as Diddy's team learned who the prosecution lawyers were, they wanted to counter that narrative to say, okay, there's six women who are gonna be talking to you as prosecutors, we also want you to hear from lawyers.

And so much so that the lawyer that gave the opening statement today, a female lawyer for Diddy, is not the most experienced lawyer on the team.

Now, experienced for sure,

But typically in the case of this nature, this high profile, you might have expected the male lawyer, one of the key male lawyers, to give the opening statement.

But I suspect, as you said, Peter, we're going to see these women perform most of the heavy lifting during this trial because, again, they're trying to send a message both sides to this jury.

Well, it was anticipated that it would take about two weeks.

I think they came in under that time.

This judge has been very clear that he's going to try to move this trial along.

Look, jury service is difficult for jurors.

And the last thing a judge wants to do is to start losing his jurors.

That's why you have six alternates in case someone gets sick or someone has a family emergency.
