And there are people, you're talking about school choice and the ability to access to practice agency.

A lot of people don't have that agency because they don't have the economic mobility to extend it.

And what I think is laudable about what Nicole Hannah-Jones did was to say, I know a lot of people

in the area where near and around where I live who don't have that agency.

Just because I do.

I don't know if I feel comfortable making that individual choice when I recognize that a bunch of individuals making individual choices ends up to create more systemic problems.

You're asking rhetorically aloud, Camille, if there are systemic problems here at play.

And I think you're also saying that there there are.

Like there's

schools that are in the same neighborhoods that have worse outcomes, where teacher quality's poorer, where students become more checked out, and where over time

segregation starts to happen not because of a government policy, but because they're just predominantly tend to be over time for lots of reasons that we can discuss in a separate podcast, um, more people who check the racial box on the census form of black in the economic strata that is lower.

And

Lots of reasons for that.

But that is an economic thing.

And then there's cultural pressure when you start to internalize some of that that makes you want to choose those schools when you might, and then other pressures economically where you aren't able to.

So Hannah Nicole Jones is saying it's not fair for me to do that.

And she wants to love that value.

I think the chief sin here is the execution, honestly.

It's hubristic, I think, to say just by me being here and by participating as a parent in the school system, I can affect change.

But what if she, before she did that, took five or ten other families and talked to them individually?
