And she herself is an INSEAD alum.
And the insights that she gave was something that I don't think I could have found anywhere online or speaking to someone within my network.
So that to me is, and that is just a microcosm of the multiple conversations I've had with each one of you, meeting you at the conference and even offline, is I get to learn a lot about how each of you approach your practice and consulting in general.
And that has made me, I think, a better consultant in terms of how
I deal with candidates, how I approach situations, challenges even, and, you know, mentor my candidates.
Yeah, exactly.
I think a couple of things.
The first is maybe second Cecilia's point is having this balance of, you know, playing the devil's advocate where, you know, you're not always just agreeing with, for example, what a particular candidate says, you're questioning them, you're actively challenging them, you know, to think of certain angles or, you know, reconsider certain things and so on and so forth.
But at the same time, also being a very trusted ally or friend where you let them know if, let's say, they are facing a challenge at work.
Maybe they're not able to let their recommender know or their manager know that they need a recommendation.
How do they approach that?
Or they're really stressed because of other things happening at home, at work, personal, and so on.
being that sounding board and a shoulder to sort of, to hear their troubles or sort of, you know, challenges through this, you know, because let's be honest, it's a stressful process throughout the whole, whatever, five or six months or more that candidates, you know, start with us up until they submit an application.
So I think there's that balance is what I feel they value the most.
And one thing that I'd also call out particular to AGAC
consultants is this sort of ringside view that we have because of our, let's say, interactions with adcoms through events and through both in-person events and online events like summer with the schools where each school hosts one-hour sessions on a yearly basis to let us really understand what is happening behind the scenes, how they think of the application process, what's changing, and so on and so forth.
I think those insights are, in a way,
to a candidate who is surrounded by so much of noise, it's basically sort of filtering and structuring it to let them know, hey, A, B, C are the most important things versus A to Z that you find on forums like Reddit and so on and so forth, which may be valuable, but in the interest of time, you want to focus on the most important things and that varies by school.
So I think that insight into what each particular school really values is something that I would add to the value that a renegade consultant brings.
I was about to talk about the, you know, focus on international students.
