But I'm sure there is a tactful way that you can tell your family that you don't want to host this year.
Just, you know, see if somebody else will do it.
Offer to bring a side dish.
or explaining that this year is gonna be a little bit more low key because of the season that you're in.
It doesn't mean that it's gonna be that way forever.
One of the clients that I'm working with, she recently had this conversation with her family as well,
And everybody's good with it because everybody has different things going on.
You know, her kids are grown, grandkids, things like that.
And so, you know, things are allowed to change and shift as the season that you are in changes and shifts.
And there's nothing wrong with starting new traditions and doing things differently.
You don't have to do things the same way forever just because that's what you've always done, right?
So I want you to think about what actually makes the holidays special for you and your family.
Because it's probably not gifts.
Like when you look back at your childhood and even ask your children, especially like if they're a little bit older, what their favorite memory or what is a memory that they remember from their childhood about the holidays?
And it's usually a tradition or family, like something that you did together, an experience, not a gift.
Like, do you remember anything?
Literally any of the gifts that you ever got as a child.
Okay.
Maybe one, I can remember one.
