Yeah, there there's a lot of fear.
Um and you know, a lot of these restrictions have become almost second nature to people.
Um it's more normal to have a mask on than to have it off at this point when you're when you're with others.
Um and similarly, I think people have just gotten really used to focusing mainly on digital or virtual um interactions with others rather than going back to their community groups or um hanging out with their children.
So I think it takes a lot of proactive encouragement to you know follow.
follow the science here, uh as as Monica is um suggesting, um, to to get people back out there and um
uh back in the communities.
completely agree too.
I I when I think about older adults in mass, you know, I think about
hearing impairment, vision impairment, you know, cognitive impairment, all of those things that can impact how we normally socialize with others that we're as geriatricians really trying to uh target with assistive devices and mass just create one additional barrier um to all of those um typical social interactions.
So
Definitely not something without downside, although
I completely agree.
It's up to people to figure out what risk they're willing to tolerate.
Um, and and it's not uh it's not as simple of a decision sometimes when we're thinking about improving socializing.

I I think it is really tough to experience, you know, the opening up or improvements here while watching what's going on abroad and witnessing these global disparities.
And vaccination rates and also just the acceleration of cases abroad.
I I think my hope is that.
