And so I kind of struggled with balancing both.
But I mean, for years, probably like a solid six years, it was mostly just nursing.
And then on my days off, I would start to share things.
I would share things like my pumping schedule when I was working long hours and still breastfeeding, stuff like that.
And then I got to a point where I gained so much traction that the big corporation I worked for did not like the fact that I had such a large social media following.
They didn't like that it brought me attention and therefore them attention.
But it pissed me off because it didn't bleed into the work that I did in the hospital.
And I felt judged off of my online presence rather than the hard work I was doing during the pandemic as a nurse in the ICU.
And so that really bothered me.
And then I got to a point where I was like, why am I here?
You know, but that was a big leap of faith for me because I didn't know if people would respect my online presence or continue to follow me if I wasn't a working nurse.
But then I got to a point where I was like, OK, they're following me because I'm Avery, not just because I'm a nurse.
Oh yeah.
That's crazy.
That's what was crazy was I, I mean, I speak very morbidly about what I did for a living because I feel like I just cope with humor.
My husband was the same in his career, but I worked in the pediatric ICU.
So it was newborn to age 17, a level one trauma.
So I was putting like babies in body bags multiple times a week.
Like I saw some crazy shit.
Yeah.
