And yeah, it was definitely the most challenging thing that I've written was writing from his point of view, because obviously I do not have a TBI.
So trying to put myself in his shoes was really hard.
Yeah, there's usually like one that you obviously know, amnesia, which I could also probably say marriage in crisis for this one or like accidental pregnancy or something like that.
And you know that that's the big one because obviously that's what the whole plot is.
centers around but otherwise i never know and i will have a couple friends who beta read for me and i get them to go through when they're reading and point out all of these tropes or not so much marketing is micro tropes and so they'll go through and point all of those things out because i just write it all and and then later on i'm like oh yeah how am i gonna market this
I think it's just another way to reach readers because I even sometimes I'll just be in the mood for I'm like, OK, I want them to be neighbors who hate each other.
And then and then I want something to happen where they have to live together for a while or whatever.
And like.
that's how I'll just pick a book as a mood reader sometimes so I don't blame people for deciding oh I really love the last three books I had all had a one bed trope in it and that's what I want to read in the next book that I read too so yeah I'm a sucker for a one bed I've said this so many times on the show I'm like what it's just adorable it's so unrealistic but it's so fun
Yeah, I think sometimes I am honoring them and their situation almost too much.
And so then I need to go back later and add a few little more moments of sexual tension because it's like almost an afterthought until we get later.
But initially, I'm just thinking about if I were in that situation and I'm not going to be trying to come on to my husband.
in that situation, you know?
But then this is also a romance book, so we do need those little spark moments.
And then I kind of just let them take the lead.
And so some books, the characters get together earlier, and some books, like this one, it's not until...
like about 70% of the way through before they actually have sex for the first time.
And that's because I was thinking about the fact that he's healing from a traumatic brain injury.
He was just in a coma.
Like he's not going to come home and they're immediately just going to get back to it, even if they're both attracted to each other.
