And I also didn't want to set this book way further in the future from the rest of the series.

So their two kids are young.

They have a three-year-old and she turns eight during the book.

So they're so young to be handling it.

And yeah, that was...

I sobbed so much through this book because I just kept putting myself into Kate's shoes and trying to imagine like if I had to explain this situation to my six-year-old daughter, like I don't even know where I would begin.

I don't know how I would handle it.

But yeah.

I definitely think that's just my natural viewpoint.

Like I can't, I've written a few little novellas like the Christmas novella and stuff that are definitely a lot lighter, but even still, I just can't help myself, but add all of this traumatic backstory to the characters and, and make them feel real and,

because they feel like real people to me when I'm writing it.

So I don't think that I really have to work at that.

It's just something that happens as I'm writing the book and I'm learning more and more about the characters and they become these fully fleshed out human beings to me.

So, yeah.

There's always going to be certain things that it's...

it's almost just a fun if you know you know if you go read all the books in order right you're gonna catch the little inside jokes that have been popping up throughout or whatever but I think I've had some people ask if like how I knew when to stop the series or if I would add more books to it later on and I think it's we're done because there's too many characters at this point

And if I want the books to continue to work as standalones, you have to reintroduce all of these people.

You do have to give a little bit of their backstory.
