What the city's request really comes from is their activity center that is along State Road 7441, when it was adopted in 2010, it adopted swap-out language that unit types could be swapped out for dwelling units that generate fewer students.

Planning council staff and attorneys' interpretation of that language in many cities, not just in the City of Hollywood, had always been for just the prescribed units that were in the plan.

In this case, the City of Hollywood allows single family

garden apartment and townhouse units and they would like to swap those out for mid rise or s or high rise units.

Midrise are four to eight stories, high rise units are nine stories or more.

Both of those unit types generate much fewer sewer, many fewer students than the single family, townhouse or garden apartments that are currently prescribed in the city plan.

So the city asked for this formal interpretation um to be made by the Planning Council um and Planning Council staff has no objection to the interpretation as it would also be to the benefit of other cities that still have this language in their plans, such as the city of Tamarack and Hallendale Beach, who have also provided letters of support that are in your backup material.

Other cities have been able to address this when they've come in for an amendment to the county plan for another reason.

Um and obviously we just talked about what an onerous process that could be, just preparing the application and going through the process.

Um so as I mentioned, the uh executive committee recommended that the interpretation uh be made and I would give it back over to the chair.

uh last year our actual was just over uh a million dollars um this budget says just over one point four billion dollars uh for twenty twenty five
