But we've always had a really open, the kids and I have always had a really open relationship and I think that stems back

Their father and I separated about seven years now.

And so that was a massive milestone and a huge thing in their life at the time, having to adapt to the change of when their parents separated.

And all of a sudden they needed to start going to two different homes and live out of a bag.

And one week they're here and next week they're there.

And they're not really settled in their safe little space that they had anymore.

Yeah.

And so we've always been really open and always talked about the big stuff.

And I want them to be able to come to me and I want them to be able to talk to me about absolutely anything.

Because I think that's so important, like communication and being open and them knowing that

I'm going to listen.

I'm not just going to react.

And that's what I was saying earlier about being a mum, something that's probably shifted a little bit as I'm a little bit less reactive of things.

And I mean, not that I was super reactive, but what I mean by that is I probably don't care so much about what other people think.

It's about what works for us and our family dynamic and, yeah, just having that trust that they can come to me.

So, yeah, we have big conversations.

Maddie and I more so, like I said, she's a girl.

She's a bit older.

She's very articulate herself and a talker and a communicator.

So we probably have more chats, but she's really good at talking to her brother as well.
