You perform at higher levels because the fear always keeps us trapped in a prisoner.
And as I've started to look at my own life,
I always had this t-shirt when I worked in the humanitarian world, which said, like, afraid of nothing.
And the past year and a half of, like, all of my life started, like, shifting in different ways.
I realized the greatest fears are not outside of me.
They're actually inside of me.
And so the past several years has been this process of, oh, there's another red thread.
Oh, there's another red thread.

And it's really quite fun because as you root them out, you realize...
That really kind of kept me stuck.
That was really limiting my performance and it didn't need to be.
And for high achievers or for senior leaders, I think we're embedded with this deep desire to achieve.
And it's like, for what?
What do I have to prove?
And a lot of it is we're just trying to prove to ourselves that we're competent, that we're successful.
And it's where does that desire to achieve come from?
And what would it look like if I reframe that where I took off the pressure and I could actually just be me as an expression of being me and work for the sheer joy of it,
rather than feeling like I have to or ought to do something.
We call it resistance.
