And so I remember I went to school the next day and I was just mortified and I kind of had to be like, oh, my dad's just, you know, overprotective, ha-ha, you know, and then I think the last boyfriend I had, which was also my first kiss.

was just so terrifying because he kissed me just before my mum pulled into the school car park.

And so instead of being able to enjoy my first kiss, I was terrified I was going to get into trouble.

And I really liked this guy.

And I ended up being so stressed about it that I faked being sick for an entire week after that and messaged my friend and asked her to break up with him for me.

And I remember just being so sad.

And my friends ultimately...

were amazing because they stood by me not really knowing why I was this awful flaky friend.

But I do remember there were times where they'd kind of get annoyed at me being like, why are you leading these guys on just to like, and I'm like, I don't want to.

That would be nice.

I think I don't really know how to connect with them now.

Like I think we weren't allowed to have Facebook when I was, you know, when Facebook kind of came out.

I think we kind of had it for a little bit and then it was kind of banned in the cult.

And so I had been friends with a couple of my friends from school at one point and then I couldn't have Facebook and so then I sort of lost that.

Now my life has just sort of changed so much.

Like I wouldn't even know how to connect with them.

But, yeah, it would be kind of cool.

So actually just before I left him, I was 20 and I was kind of ready to leave the cult.

I had written my parents a letter making up a lie that I'd slept with someone because I thought if I say that I've slept with someone, I'll get kicked out of the cult anyway.

So they can't argue with that.
