And I have two daughters.
And I would be just horrified if they took this one guy's opinion over their own.
So the thing that got me past it finally, I think, is in having my life as I knew it, like the main components of my life disappear overnight, essentially, and feeling so raw and kind of the comfort of life, you know, that you build over 20 years, having that go away, I think I was able to access it.
It just sort of was there again.
It felt like a lot of different narratives were floating around.
And I really just wanted to write down what happened.
But what I returned to as I wrote down what happened was an interest in the art of it.
Like, how do you create something that has suspense and is the kind of writing that I like that's a little more spare?
And I got really interested in that.
And that I had not felt in a very long time.

Yes, we started it before the pandemic.
I have a law partner who is the mother of one of my daughter's friends, and she's also a former corporate big firm lawyer.
And we took on one case and then another and then another, and now we have a good six cases active right now.
It has evolved in that we've gotten a little bit better at it, a little more experienced.
But as you know, the climate right now has changed dramatically.
So the work itself is very different right now.
And it's very defensive rather than, you know, being able to make real progress for clients.
