Yeah, absolutely.
It's such an unusual and long break at a very early point in the regulation cycle where you've got the most, in theory, to gain from changing the car.
There's also this idea floating around that upgrades that were already planned, there's been a bit more time to complete the set and then you do some more on top.
So there could be some teams with sort of like a double step in one
or a mix and match thing going on.
I think it was Alan Permain of Racing Bulls that was talking along those lines.
I hope I haven't misunderstood what he said.
But then also you look at the pattern at the front.
Mercedes obviously won't stand still but the teams you'd expect to be around them Scott you know touched McLaren and Red Bull definitely will be looking out to see what they do McLaren obviously have the history of bringing out kind of one transformative package and they've been presented with a circumstance that really allows them to do that again and they've been quite consistent since the start of the season admitting that their car's behind admitting that
they're behind on downforce so you would expect them to really go at it in miami where we know in the past they've had a lot of success with a with a major upgrade red bull they just kind of have to do it because it's been such a stinky start for them really on on balance but also ferrari i wouldn't wouldn't count out there being some interesting changes from them although there's the feeling that maybe on pure chassis terms they have
the best car potentially in the corners.
Obviously that's coming at a straight line speed deficit, particularly to Mercedes.
So they had a secret test, I believe, at Monza.
We were hoping to be able to get there and photograph.
It wasn't possible.
So they've definitely been up to something.
And I would expect they'd be looking at how can we get more straight line speed without changing the engine?
How can we shed drag?
We know they have the so-called Macarena wing that's appeared in FP1 a few times, but not raced yet.
I can imagine they've run that again to see if they can finally tweak it to the right spec to run properly at a Grand Prix.
