So how the fuck did that happen?
How does that happen?
If everyone is, you know, marching for, and this, like, applies to all causes.
Like, this politicization, this means, like, this could be, you know, someone, like, marching in, like, an anti-ICE protest, or it could be someone, like,
marching in like a pro-life rally so this applies to all things but across the spectrum there is very little um almost none no forming of like community or groups organizations that actually last um so essentially the book argues that it's a whole lot of talking
But it's all bark, no bite.
And that so much of what people have fought for in the 2020s has just been a flash in the pan.
And that was really crazy for me to read because I was I felt like surely.
know some stuff has come some change has come or some long-lasting effects and we learn from our lessons but i don't know and listen there's a multitude of reasons for this phenomenon um which are all explained in the book if you want to check it out but like you know an infamous example of this is the uh the phenomenon of saying like commenting for the algorithm
um to like try and boost like a post on tiktok or instagram um but like which by the way just like insider baseball here which every algorithm if you comment like commenting for the algorithm like what's everyone's favorite thing coffee or tea
The algorithms aren't – they are, like, some of the most advanced AI we have.
Like, they are literally powering billion-dollar social media companies.
They will filter that shit out in a jiffy.
Like, they will pick that up as spam.
Unfortunately, it does not work.
There is no, like, way to boost a video with, like –
by saying like coffee or tea.
So, um, and then of course, like the infamous black square post, um, that ended up just like jamming in 2020, that ended up just jamming the like actual black lives matter post.
Um, it made it harder to like organize.
