Like I think that there are a lot of pitchers specifically like those two who are like,
great playoff pitchers who will be around for long enough that teams are into it.
You could imagine a different version of them that had a lot of these guys at the tail end of the top 50.
I think that it is meaningful that the Jays don't have like a young,
going to be around for a long time, like superstar.
And that pretends that it's going to be tricky to keep their window open in the years to come.
Like they need to do some developing or getting lucky or the budget's going to have to keep going up.
You kind of see this with teams from time to time, which is basically like,
When you get a big window of great prospects, then you populate the top of the list for a while because those guys rock and are really good values.
And then they cash in that value on the field by playing well and without you having to pay them too much.
And so now you're very successful and you start bringing in free agents to keep it going.
But yeah, the value kind of slips.
Like maybe in the long run, it means that this is not going to be a Dodgers-esque super cycle of being incredibly competitive forever.
But I don't look at it as like the Jays are cooked.
There are different ways of not having a top 50 trade value way.
There's the Jay's way where it's like, you know, Vlad's contract is not great, but he is.
He's having a down year, but I still believe in him.
He's young and he's streaky.
He's up and down.
And if you didn't want the highs and the lows, he's the wrong guy to have on your team.
