It seems to me that there is some kind of negotiation with the history of making images of trees through painting.
You already mentioned that you came back from Paris with a Smithson book and Bonard.
What do you have on your studio wall today?
Right.
What do you choose in terms of your own w I mean, obviously you've got the works that you're in the middle of making, but will you bring existing works out into the studio environment as an example?
Or once a work is sort of fixed and completed, is it either shown, sent out to collections and or put away, or do you revise your own interpretation of your own works?
Yeah, there was a real feeling in that show of a dialogue with yourself, you know, that there were these brand new works which were sort of split down the middle, there was the earthworks that we've talked about, the soil pieces, there was sculpture in embedded in the soil was a kind of canvas.
And then as you say, this kind of mini history of your own work.
So there did feel like a dialogue across time in your work and a kind of curiosity about your own work in it.
Which museum do you visit most frequently?
That's interesting.
So you have particular favourites that you'll revisit as well as experiencing new things.
So you have a certain rhythm about your museum visiting.
One of the interesting things about Famir is of course there's been endless analysis about his use of a camera obscura and so on.
