Yeah, it is indeed.

Do you make references to film in the work?
Because for instance, again at the South London Gallery, you showed this wonderful film by Agnes Varder called The Gleaner's An Eye.
And it was I guess a suggestion that you could be a gleaner yourself, or you know, that there was a sense in which you saw yourself in that work somehow.
But I wondered, are you referring to film?
You mentioned that you'd experimented with video as you were deciding to become a painter.
But does film loom large in your imagination?
Yeah.
It's really important, I think, to stress that your work has a social position or has a social role, right?
It is political in that sense.
And and you know, I think of pieces that have taken place in public space.
By entering into public space, you're immediately entering into a social system and indeed a political system.
And therefore, your work is a kind of form of commentary or harnessing of energies of those kinds, and a kind of proposal, as you say, a chance.
for the imaginative roles of the viewers in that social space to be activated.
Is there a particular discipline in your daily working life that you see as an essential ritual?
Is this before you get to the studio or during the day, afterwards, do you have a kind of pattern?
