And building a civic culture in this country of this is not a spectator sport.
This is something where everyone actually has power, has a voice.
What you do matters.
That can affect government at all levels.
So much of what everyone's frustrated about is not about which party controls government.
It's about whether government itself has accountability to the public and has to move and deliver to be able to make life better for people.
And there's so much that people in red and blue areas can do, even though their elections aren't closed.
But it's hard for that to feel real when it feels like your vote doesn't count because you already know in advance who's going to win.
And so I think there's multiple paths.
I think the same thing is true in house races.
If we have competitive house races across the country, if gerrymandering bans are enacted, and especially if we get to something like proportional representation, then many more people will have a meaningful say in who represents them in a chamber of Congress.
If we can reform the U.S.
Supreme Court, then maybe we can actually do something about money in politics, which right now the Supreme Court is on the money side.
They're on the money side.
They're on the money side.
But imagine if that can change.
Well, I first don't want to don't want to re-litigate the DNC chairs race.
I don't want to be the head of the DNC now.
Maybe a different life.
But let's say I am the head of the DNC now.
