We need to make, you'll have three appointments, got to get the groceries, need to get, pick up parts for the machinery, pick up seed.
You know, there's a list of mile long and it's a really big day.
And those days were very hard with young, young children.
So I think rural areas can give you an incredible sense of community that you've, that is, that
unique to rural living and regional living.
On the flip side, that access to services and access to people, more readily access to people, can be isolating.
But in my experience though, Karina, I think in my work with mums, people can feel isolated living anywhere.
I think you can feel isolated living in the city.
100%.
What's been wonderful in my motherhood experience is the internet and the connection to people through Zoom.
So a lot of my work was conducted, a majority of my work as a coach has been conducted via Zoom or other platforms over the last 10 years, which helped with a sense of connection.
I think because...
It is such a profound change that we go through.
I know you did a recent episode on matrescence and we don't want to sort of focus around that in this episode, but the transition to becoming a mother, that developmental process which changes us on every level, we then feel disconnected from who we once were and how we once were.
defined ourselves whether that was through being part of a work community maybe in a corporate setting or in a career setting in a team setting on the sports field a community group whatever it is we're involved with we can attach our sense of identity to
to those parameters.
And when we become a mother, things shift.
Maybe not all of that shifts, but things shift on such a huge level that we can then find ourselves flailing or feeling lost, like,
oh my gosh, who am I now?
And all those things that I once did that I defined myself by, I no longer can do them or they're not a part of my everyday life anymore.
