to to understand what's happening every six months in terms of what people are are earning.
But increasingly administrative data is is providing really useful insights to actually understand different population groups and which groups are faring well, which groups are struggling.
Yeah.
Yeah, so not not with not with the same regularity that we get a lot of other information.
So yeah, it's and and that is one of the really exciting prospects about very regular administrative data is the ability to actually look beyond just headline measures to actually say, what does the earnings distribution for these particular population groups look like over time?
And where can you see people becoming more employed, less employed?
Um
you know, higher wage growth, slower wage growth.
So there's there's enormous potential there from this new data that's becoming available.
Yeah, so it's interesting that uh there's there's still more that we could do with existing labor market information in order to provide some of this forward-looking insights.
So we have what the job vacancy survey that we've been running since the late nineteen seventies.
There's still potential for us to enhance and and modernize that survey to be able to collect more information, looking at some of the other indicators of
of labor demand, looking at both um employer focused expectations around the future, but also some of the employee level expectations.
So one one of the interesting um untapped resources that we have within the regular labor force statistics that we produce is that every quarter we ask uh employed people about whether they expect to still be in their current job or with their employee.
Um
you know, in in the next twelve months.
Now that's been there for a very long time, but it's it's one of those um indicators that, you know, it's it's a bit of a deep cut for um for some economists that are that know it's there and and know how to use it.
So there there's an interesting question about whether we could actually address some of these gaps by actually using data that that already exists and and is already available.
Yeah, that's a great question.
Um and and the short answer is yes.
