And overnight, the original root of root beer is officially like a problem, right?

So the drink doesn't disappear, obviously.

We're still drinking it, but it mutates.

And so manufacturers reformulate, and they start using artificial sassafras flavors, wintergreen, vanilla, and anise notes, and other ingredients to mimic that old profile without the banned compound.

So the smell is familiar, but chemically, it is different.

Okay.

So today, RIP Beer sits in this like weird cultural space, by the way, because in North America, especially in the U.S., it is nostalgic.

I mean, you're talking about it.

You're talking about nostalgia.

I think about RIP Beer about when I was growing up.
