And that's exactly what Paul Skeens was doing.

Yeah.

He has a higher strikeout rate, a lower walk rate, a better whip than he did last season.

His ERA is up almost to full point because baseball is random and, frankly, because the Pirates' defense kind of stinks.

That team has been hitting a lot more this year, and they're real contenders as a result, but they kind of did sacrifice a little bit of defensive ability in order to do that, and I think that is playing a role in Skeens' numbers.

But because the underlying stuff is so strong with him, I think you do need to consider him still very much a part of the NL Cy Young race.

alongside Mizorowski, alongside Christopher Sanchez.

Those two guys are ahead.
