Over 20% of the U.S.
population is taking four prescriptions or more per month.
And so oftentimes, the doctor isn't aware of all that information until they're doing checks with people like us.
So those are some of the roles that our clinicians play in a patient's care journey.
In our experience, innovation requires intentionality.
The overall space is ripe for technology to innovate, improve care journeys, improve patient experiences, as we talked about earlier in this conversation.
So for us, it comes back to innovation.
Business by business, experience by experience, we need to look for those opportunities to lift up the experience and make it completely different.
So in Cigna Healthcare, our health plan business, we've been very focused on our mobile app and how we make our mobile app as intuitive as possible, which includes things like the AI Power Virtual Assistant that we introduced earlier this year, which allows people to get many of their questions answered in real time without having to make a phone call.
That's an example of something where people use their phone for so many things in life, we want them to use it for their health benefits as often as possible.
In our Evernorth platform, in the pharmacy benefit services business that I was talking about earlier, we've been really proud of the innovation we've been making in GLP-1s specifically.
So we've introduced a variety of programs over the course of the last 18 months that have been really focused on access to the GLP-1 drugs at the most affordable price.
and in a way that ensures patient safety.
Those have been the tenets or the principles that we've been really focused on.
And what we've been able to do is bring down the unit pricing of GLP-1.
So we introduced a program earlier this year that capped the patient out of pocket at $200 per month.
That's an example of something that we're doing in the pharmacy benefit services business.
And then finally, in our specialty pharmacy, the third of our growth platforms, we've been focused on AI solutions.
use cases around unstructured data, because often what we find with specialty drugs is the prescription might be written, but it's for a high cost, clinically intensive specialty medication, and we need to make sure that it's appropriate before it's actually dispensed.
And so we've been able to essentially ingest a series of unstructured data and reduce the amount of time between when the prescriber writes the prescription and when we can pack it and send it
